Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Projektet Faktaassistenten aimed to create a tool for News Editors in the work to verify digital sources. The tool, called Galileo, has several functions. A basic function is that the tool acts as a guide through the verification process and ensures that a journalist systematically carries out the verification. After verification, the analysis can be securely locked with and shared within or between editors. The tool also includes a review of existing verification tools
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Galileo, the Facts Assistant, is a working prototype that is currently undergoing user testing for continued product development. At implementation, the tool will be a valuable help for editors to verify digital sources.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Initially, the work of editors was studied to map how they worked with fact verification. In the evaluation of the project, it was concluded that there should have been a clearer link between this initial work and the development work. The challenges that the project came to deal with in the final stage could have been avoided if the development had occurred iteratively in closer cooperation with the various members of the team. In the final stage, a UX consultant was also involved who should have participated in the development from the start.
