Important results from the project

EUREBA® mimics sugar by combining sweeteners from natural sources with a soluble natural carrier-fibre. This project has developed and installed a novel method to refine the processes needed for a large-scale commercialization of EUREBA. The goal was to develop EUREBA from batch-based small-scale production to a scalable process-produced product which, due to lower unit-costs, is available to consumers. This objective has been met with the acquisition of the reactor and electron microscope, now available to all the Group´s R&D companies.

Expected long term effects

Through the project, we have achieved the possibility of an industrialised process to produce EUREBA®. This sugar reducer helps food producers struggling with custom recipes. The result will be a major health benefit for consumers. The company also started a transformation from an R&D company to a group for future FMCG products. With more R&D companies in the group, more people can benefit from the project and consumers can have more and better, reduced-sugar products.

Approach and implementation

The project gave us the opportunity to procure equipment and develop processes to industrialize EUREBA®. With the acquisition of more R&D companies, we are now creating a joint R&D section within the Group, that will benefit our manufacturing subsidiaries. This will allow us to reach more consumers with more sugar-reduced products that promote health. The difficulties have mainly been in budgeting the hardware. Another difficulty has been that the company has changed significantly, which has prolonged the project somewhat.
