Important results from the project

The project has developed a prototype of a temperature sensor that can be powered by solar cells under water and that sends the current temperature to a unit on the surface. This prototype has been tested in Lake Vättern down to a depth of 20 meters with good results. Thanks to this prototype, we have been able to discuss further with potential customers and partners to understand the requirements for a future product.

Expected long term effects

The expected result was that we would be able to carry out demonstrations for a number of potential resellers. However, we have learned that the market primarily consists of developing companies with direct sales, which is why we have instead discussed requirements and opportunities with researchers and other potential customers. The prototype we have built has helped us in the discussion to find a suitable first product to develop.

Approach and implementation

The project´s three activities have been carried out, however, the development of the prototype and testing in water have been more difficult than expected. For future projects, more time / cost must be set aside for the practical testing, as this is a part that entails large costs.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
