Important results from the project
SLL Innovation is the main innovation system within Stockholm County Council. This preliminary study aims to examine how the test bed operations can be implemented in various clinics and departments in the healthcare sector. The test bed aims to work with particular test set-ups, clinical trials and evaluations of medical devices, and assessment of innovative products in early stages. This requires higher standards for processes, agreements and practices, in particular, stronger structures and networks for increased collaboration with clinical staff.
Expected long term effects
SLL Innovation has established procedures for clinical trials at one clinic at Danderyd Hospital which allows companies to buy these services from the health care. SLL Innovation has also established contacts in primary care in the SLSO and with CeFAM worked out guidelines for how cooperation and procedures should be developed. A detailed plan for further implementation in the context of the complete application has been developed.
Approach and implementation
SLL Innovation has started to build the test bed by performing two field tests, one clinical trial at Danderyd Hospital and a test set up at two health centers. During the work we have begun to establish processes and procedures for testing activities within the health care in Stockholm County.
