Important results from the project
The purpose of project ESAIM was to develop a method for thesis in artistic education in cooperation with external partners with the aim of strengthening students´ capacity in the labor market and KMH´s network with external parties. The model means that students have the opportunity to choose to carry out all or part of their thesis work in collaboration with an external party. The project has carried out a number of pilot tests and draw conclusions and also produced a handbook for artistic "exjobb" Artistic dissertations with external partners are now established at KMH
Expected long term effects
The value of the project lies in the increased labor market connection for the students at KMH, to the music-related labor market - a need that so far has not succeeded in creating stable forms for any higher music education. Through the project, artistic "exjobb" are now an established way of working that many students choose for part of their thesis work. Through the project, KMH has built up collaborations with many new external partners, something that leads to interesting new projects, in research and education. Samverkansarean KMH X-day is now established
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in a number of different phases / sprints where we tested ways to suitable forms and arrangements for artistic dissertations. The project was made in collaboration with KTH, who are experts in dissertations within technical education, and with a reference group from other artistic universities. The project has worked out very well. By gradually testing, we have been able to adapt the set-up and format for the artistic ex-jobs. Close contact with students and external parties has provided very useful information for the development of the project.
