Important results from the project
Establish a ODI node - not implemented. However, a regional grouping suitable as node has been created Establish work methods, etc - implemented. We have a shared Google Drive and a common portal deployed. Upgrading skills - implemented. Seminar held in Skellefteå on data as a resource for growth and innovation and a seminar in Umeå on Linked Data has been conducted. Contacts with neighboring municipalities regarding co-operation/joining OpenNorth - has been done.
Expected long term effects
The result has been the expected except the lack of creating international cooperation and international contacts. But we have an ongoing regional cooperation and we have deployed a joint portal for Open Data. We have also begun work to include the Open Data perspective in future grants applications.
Approach and implementation
The project has used agile methods which worked out well. We have been guided by the objectives of the project and have chosed the the best way to reach the objectives in the present situation. The project began with a number of meetings designed to reduce the differences in knowledge in the consortium. There could have been more of these meetings, but in practice it is difficult for a new collaboration to get prioritized. Getting a collaboration that is highly valued and thus get the priority in the already well-filled calendars seem to be a process that takes some time.
