Important results from the project
During the project, Equardian AB wanted to further develop their wireless sensor that reads the movement and current on electric fences and warns the user in the associated app if something is wrong. During the project, we have worked to refine, develop and optimize our technology to now be ready to take the step towards a commercialization of the product. We have also designed the enclosure that will enclose the electronics. This has included taking into account results from UX tests, standards for IP-classification and limitations that exist in the manufacture of molds for plastics.
Expected long term effects
During the project period, we have gone from using an MVP of our hardware at the start of the project to having design and resources ready at the end of the project to start mass-producing our technology. We have significantly developed, expanded and refined the original electronics and mechanics and can see a clear improvement in performance. We always work on the basis that the product must meet the certifications and directives required within the EU and the USA for a product within our product area.
Approach and implementation
Throughout the project, we have worked very closely with our hardware engineer to be able to constantly follow the development and check that we follow the project planning. Before we started the project in many ways, we knew what work was required of us to get the design for our PCB, the big challenge was to find a balance between refining the chosen technology and R&D around component selection and technology. We are very pleased with the result and see that we have succeeded in developing a product that is significantly much better than our MVP at the start of the project.
