Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to produce a demo showing the supply of maritime regulatory information to potential organizations and customers as a cloud service and investigate the business opportunities for this form of delivery. The goal has been that customers should be able to try the product by entering a position anywhere in the world and recalling what environmental rules it applies. The goal was achieved by developing a new type of regulatory database and APIs launched on MS Azure. Discussions are ongoing with potential customers as well as new industrial business partners.
Expected long term effects
APIs have been developed and discussions have been initiated with both customers and companies that can become new partners. We expect to receive the first paying customer in 2018 using the new delivery form. One effect we hope to achieve is to facilitate control authorities in their investigative work on incorrect discharges so that they can decrease in the future. Another effect we hope to achieve is to get a new type of partners who benefit from our customer service as an optional in their existing product offerings that will not competing with our current market.
