Important results from the project
Brunkeberg has erected a curtain wall glass facade on a construction site for an office building in Örebro, showcasing a revolutionary method for faster safer construction, with less staff. New equipment and lean construction methods has been successfully tested and the safety and productivity benefits has been validated.
Expected long term effects
Curtain wall installation twice as fast, with twice the size with less than half the staff. The time studies within the project resulted in a verified productivity rate of over 16 times traditional methods. This shows how the brunkeberg method will contribute to more safer and more efficient construction of high rise buildings.
Approach and implementation
The following parts of the Curtain wall process has been studied; site establishment, goods offloading, panel distribution and panel installation. Observations and measurements were conducted regarding time, productivity, resources, safety and quality. As a part of the project, a live demonstration was performed for 150 construction professionals, press, investors and Vinnova staff. Showcasing how glass panels of 850 kilos was installed from offloading site to final position in under 5 minutes by to people, a procedure normally taking 6 people over one hour to complete.
