Call Electronic Components and Systems: Feasibility studies 2023

Important results from the project

The ENGINED project was a feasibility study aimed at investigating the possibilities of developing an optimized ASIC that can combine Epishine´s photo-voltaic cell with Ligna´s energy module to enable sustainable and self-sufficient IoT products, as well as explore business models for such an ASIC. After completion of the feasibility study it was concluded that such a development project is possible and that there are suitable business models.

Expected long term effects

Detailed function and performance requirements were drawn up and realized in an imagined architecture and an ASIC technology that could meet the requirements was chosen. Furthermore, which business models would be suitable for such an ASIC were investigated and the most suitable layout was identified. The feasibility study has thus laid a good foundation for a future implementation project.

Approach and implementation

The following work packages were executed during the project: Work package 1: Project management Goal: Successfully manage the project plan, budget, and risks to ensure goals set up are met in time and within budget. Work package 2: Requirement elicitation Goal: Set up complete technical requirements for the ASIC Work package 3: Business model and future partners Goal: Identify business model for organic energy module combo and identify suitable future partners
