Important results from the project
The project has achieved its goal by developing the main concept and the key enabling components for a low-cost, small, and self-powered system-on-chip wireless sensor platform, meeting the requirements for realistic applications in avionics.
Expected long term effects
In this project we have designed, fabricated, and demonstrated innovative solutions for an integrated ultralow power energy-harvesting power management system. Furthermore, the project has generated knowledge and increased insight in how the developed results from this project can be used in avionics particularly for Structure Health Monitoring (SHM). In addition the result of this project can support a number of emerging applications for smart self-powered sensors in wireless sensor networks, Internet-of-Things (IoT), and industry 4.0.
Approach and implementation
The collaboration between Saab and LiU with the world leading competence and knowledge in their respective areas created a unique complementing teamwork which has enabled a multidisciplinary research and holistic perspective for development of self-powered wireless sensor platform systems for avionics and other related Swedish ICT industry.
