Important results from the project
It has been several aims and goals with this planning grant. 1. I have been traveling and visit departments at Uppsala University and at Karolinska Institute. 2. I have tried to establish collaboration between departments in Sweden and in USA and in Switzerland. 3. Discussed career qualification with the professors. 4. Discussed the exploitability of the research project, which can contribute to better treatment of diseases like Parkinson´s disease. 5. I have written and completed applications that will be submitted when we have grants that cover the salary and research costs.
Expected long term effects
It has been several results from this planning grant. 1. The effect of the visits at Swedish institutions have clarified the presence of facilities, equipment and administration are present to make the project feasible. 2. The attempts to establish collaboration has led to the accessibility to equipment at EPFL and support with grant writing. 3. I have written research proposal for a VINNMER Marie Curie incoming fellowship that will be submitted when grants that cover salary and research costs has been awarded.
Approach and implementation
The setup for the planning grant was to establish the base to a project that can be a VINNMER Marie Curie Incoming fellowship grant and to write and complete a full length grant proposal by visiting Swedish institutions and to establish international collaborations. The project has been dynamic and to be able to establish international collaborations one need to agree about the project and funding, which can change during the planning of the projects. I have written a research proposal that is going to be submitted to VINNOVA when we have funding that cover salary and research costs.
