Important results from the project
This pilot aimed to develop ways of working that connect innovative organizations, knowledge-intensive companies and global large companies in Sweden and the USA based in Silicon Valley. The goal of the project was to establish collaboration between Electrification Hub, companies and innovative environments, which was achieved and demonstrated under Sweden Innovation Days. A method and process was developed to build collaboration with selected environments in the US.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in valuable insights into the current status of electrification initiatives in the USA and it has been possible to identify cutting-edge pilots and validation tests for specific areas that are of interest to Swedish industry and academia. Electrification Hub has also established a process that will be able to connect Swedish industry with innovative companies on the American market through collaboration with various incubators. Electrification Hub will continue working with this method and process in its operation in the USA.
Approach and implementation
Through close collaboration with Vinnova, Sweden-US Green Transition Initiative and Business Sweden, the project has mapped opportunities and initiatives in electrification on the American market and looked at how these opportunities are in line with the needs of partners in Sweden. It has visited and studied different parts of the USA and identified how different innovation system work, established dialogue and found a model for cooperation going forward. The knowledge and learnings have been shared continuously via workshops and with partners in the Swedish innovation system.
