Important results from the project
The project was successful in both its technical and non-technical objectives. In terms of technical work we were able to have good number of publication in international conferences as recognition of the good quality the work that has been done. Besides the technical aspects the project was an enabler for a long lasting collaboration between the two research groups, i.e., at KTH and at Nagoya University. We found our joint work very useful and we are now in the process to find new funds and continue the collaboration.
Expected long term effects
The project resulted in the following conference publications: [1] A. Jirattigalachote, et.al., ´Impairment-Aware Routing and Waveband Assignment for Efficient Optical Transport Networks,´ in Proc. OFC , 2012. [2] H. Hasegawa et.al, ´Design strategies for Survivable Grouped Routing Entity (GRE)-based Optical Networks,´ in Proc. DRCN, 2013. [3] A. Jirattigalachote, ´Design of Grouped Routing Entity (GRE)-based Optical Networks with 100% Signal Quality Guarantee,´ in Proc. ONDM, 2014.
Approach and implementation
We held regular meetings at conferences (in total 7 meetings) where both research groups were attending. We had 2 Japanese researchers visiting Sweden and 2 Swedish researchers visiting Japan. Conferences in which the meetings took place: ICTON in 2012 and 2013, ACP in 2012 and 2013, OFC in 2012, 2013 and 2014). Exchanges in 2012: -Prof. Hasegawa visited KTH from July 25 to Aug. 20 -Dr. Amornrat Jirattigalachote visited Nagoya University from Nov. 29 to Dec. 31 Exchanges in 2013: -Dr. Hai Chau Le visited KTH from July 8 to Aug. 8 -Dr. Paolo Monti visited Nagoya University from Nov. 16 to Dec. 9
