Important results from the project
The project has developed a decentralized time server that resolves the problem of precise frequency and time synchronization of nodes in large networks, received approval from the relevant authorities and signed an agreement for a manufacturing license with a partner for mass production and deployment in telecom and smart grid operator networks.
Expected long term effects
The concept of decentralized time servers has been very well received by operators in both the telecom and power industries. Signing contracts with our partners has been more complex and time consuming than we ever expected but has also opened up for new opportunities.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented in three phases, where the first phase developed a demonstrator for discussions with partners and end users to show the concept of decentralized time servers. The second phase produced a prototype for field testing and product certification. In the third phase, we signed an agreement for our key component in the EGM product.
