Important results from the project
The aim of Autodrive is the design and development of fail-aware/fail-safe/fail-operational systems for automated driving. QRTECH along with its partners performed functional safety analysis (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment - HARA and Fault Tree Analysis - FTA) on two such systems - a fail-operational cooperative automated emergency brake assistant system (C-AEB) from Virtual Vehicle and a fault tolerant lateral control system (FTLCS) from FlandersMake.
Expected long term effects
Our work in Autodrive has led to new research projects and customer offerings in the ADAS/AD domain. This has also led to recruitment of new engineers at QRTECH. During the project, QRTECH has gained significant knowledge in the ADAS/AD domain. We have developed a HIL rig that is connected to a simulator to efficiently verify and validate ADAS/AD software. A results analysis tool developed in connection to this, helps to get useful insights which would lead to getting better requirements for the ADAS/AD systems. These results from Autodrive have also been presented in conferences.
Approach and implementation
QRTECH collaborated extensively in Autodrive with our partners KTH, FlandersMake and Virtual Vehicle. We feel that this collaboration is a big positive from the project. It would have been even better if we had Swedish OEMs participating in the project to propose suitable requirements for the use cases. This would have led to a stronger Swedish consortium.
