Purpose and goal
Boreal Orchards developed a technology embedded concept to cost-effectively grow selected native moss species in large scale and to use this moss for climate adaptation, urban greening, and ecosystems restoration. The granted support is for writing and submitting an application to the European Innovation Council (EIC). If successful, this will fuel our next significant step towards scaling up the business, innovating towards new applications and commercializing our solutions worldwide.
Expected effects and result
The planning grant will support us preparing a competitive first stage EIC application (“short proposal”), simultaneously with documenting and drafting the full proposal, alongside communication and engaging new partners. Second, if the short application is positively evaluated by the EIC, we will be invited to finalize the second stage application (“full proposal”). Disregard of the outcome of the evaluation, we are committed to build an application that in the event of not being financed through this EIC call can be used in other relevant EU calls we are continuously screening.
Planned approach and implementation
Based on the EIC Accelerator application process, the project plan for the planning project, includes the following activities: preparing the short application and documentation for the full application meetings and dialogue with stakeholders preparing and filming the video pitch registering and EIC account and uploading the application finalizing the full application developing a business plan updating the pitch deck and the video pitch preparing and interview with the EIC jury uploading the application and the requested annexes
