Important results from the project
Today there is no control and monitoring in the healthcare system of early markers of physical impairment, which is needed to prevent or reverse age-related deterioration. The purpose of the STARK project is to develop an e-health tool with the potential to give the individual and the healthcare system this control. The goal of stage 1 has been to develop a specification for a prototype of an e-health tool and identify its implementation path, as well as identify the innovation team for stage 2 with three perspectives; user perspective, supplier perspective and distributor perspective.
Expected long term effects
After stage 1, a first prototype of the e-health tool is developed with the possibility to estimate a person´s physical ability and the person’s belief in his or her own ability. Implementation paths are identified in healthcare and sports. Partners for stage 2 are identified.
Approach and implementation
Surveys and interviews of middle-aged people have been conducted to obtain information to the market analysis and the first prototype for the e-health tool. Evaluation of physical tests in a study of middle-aged people, who perform the tests, has also get information to the development of the prototype. Individual and group interviews have been conducted with strategic persons in Region Västmanland and Region Sörmland with the aim of identifying implementation path within healthcare. The STARK project has been marketed to attract partners for stage 2.
