Important results from the project

The ambition was that TT would contribute with knowledge, content, qualitative validation of analog physical images that would be digitized through the project. Delivery of relevant content to the project has taken place together with other European image agencies. During the project, we have been able to hire a person who, together with other employees, has been able to engage full-time in the selection and indexing of the material that we have received back digitally from IMS.

Expected long term effects

We expect that the project will make us more efficient/faster/safer in the future when handling the elderly historical images that are being digitized. We have also been able to prioritize which photographers have good images with high quality. We also hope that in the long term we can have a dialogue with other image agencies and collaborate on processes and validation with historical images, including DPA (D), Keystone (CH), APA (AT), NTB (NO), Ritzau (DK), ANP (NL)

Approach and implementation

The project initially took some time to find the right process, flows, communication, delivery frequency and to fine-tune how the metadata on the images ended up in the right fields. Once this was set, it went more smoothly. However, we felt that the actual development of the website from IMS took place quite isolated from our activities and there the communication/dialogue could have been better and more frequent. The time schedule have worked our fine
