Important results from the project
With a focus on critical infrastructure use cases such as energy distribution, smart cities and critical communication, the goal of the project was to design and develop novel cybersecurity solutions especially in the areas of secure communication, anomaly/intrusion detection and management of security also from a device life-cycle point of view. Furthermore, the project also aimed at developing use-case-focused demonstrators, and to contribute to international dissemination of results, as well as to standardization activities in international standardization bodies.
Expected long term effects
The project has developed several innovative security solutions in the considered technology areas and use cases. A selection of such solutions has been integrated into three use-case-focused demonstrators and into two further technology-focused demonstrators. A large number of developed security solutions has resulted in academic publications, open SW implementations, and successful standardization activities in IETF, 3GPP and ISO. Furthermore, three new products and four improved products were developed from the project results.
Approach and implementation
The project ran from January 2019 to March 2022, with partners from Sweden, Luxembourg and Taiwan including Research Institutes, Universities and Industry/SMEs active in the field of cybersecurity. The project was structured into six Work Packages (WPs), that tightly and smoothly cooperated. WPs covered "Project Management" (WP1), "Use cases & Requirements" (WP2), "Network Security and Monitoring" (WP3), "Security Management" (WP4), "Demonstrators and Test Beds" (WP5) and "Dissemination, Standardization and Exploitation" (WP6).
