Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to strengthen the positive development and network-based organization that exists in Western Sweden to develop the future transport system. By creating meetings between actors, initiating new projects as well as coordinating and interfacing between ongoing projects, many project ideas have been processed. The challenge is to orchestrate collaborative projects in a dynamic context. A proposal to use self-propelled, electrified small buses to connect a commuter train station to IKEA store in Kållered has been developed.
Expected long term effects
The overall objective of the project was to orchestrate tests and demonstrations of services and functions made possible by digitization and automation. In an attractive testbed, public, private and research actors collaborate in a productive way to build knowledge and attract new actors to contribute. A larger number of meetings have been conducted with all types of actors. Project proposals have been developed for both Drive Sweden as co-financier and other programs. Test Site Göteborg is still a test bed with international attraction.
Approach and implementation
RISE Viktoria was project manager and principal representative of research actors. IKEA was a project partner searching for mobility solutions at department stores and large shopping centers. In addition, the project has had contact with a large number of research and pilot projects in progress. Many meetings with two to five parties have been implemented. There has been no need for general information meetings because several ongoing major projects arrange conferences. A project proposal for a transport solution with selfdriving small buses at IKEA Kållered was prepared.
