Important results from the project

The project has achieved its aim and objective. With the right pre-sorting, the quality of the recycled plastic film is as good with a dry wash as with a wet wash, but with a significant saving of energy and water.

Expected long term effects

With a local buyer for plastic film, the recycling companies get incentives to sort out more plastic from combustibles, while the plastics industry can conduct closer cooperation to make products from recycled plastic.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Within the project, plastic film that was collected in separate collections and film that was sorted out from construction waste were tested. The materials were broken down, dry washed and extruded through a melt filter into pellets. Plastic film was first produced on a lab scale and then on a full scale.
