Important results from the project
DP Patterning develops and manufactures machines for manufacturing patterned conductors on plastic substrates such as antennas for mobile phones, antennas for RFID, heaters or flexible circuit board in an environmentally, economically and safely way, the method is called DPP (Dry Phase pattering). The goal of the project was to develop a method and a system for automatically controlling the process in a DPP-machine by using optical measuring systems.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project has been good and has been implemented in a machine at a customer. During the project a new mechanical system was developed to be able to adjust the machine´s positioning with an accuracy of less than a micrometer. Electrical motors and a vision system were designed to together with new software control the system. Previous machines could only be sold for lab use, but with the new system, the machine will be sold to producing customers.
Approach and implementation
The implementation of the project has more or less followed the original project plan. It turned out that it required more construction than planned, but the project budget adjusted after consultation with the Vinnova officer. High volume verification of the system at the customer would have been desirable to include in the project, but the integration into the customer´s system has taken longer than planned.
