Important results from the project
Dosell a novel automatic drug dispenser for home care personnel or/and relatives. Dosell supports medical compliance of patients on multiple drug schedule, reminding the patient when it’s time to take the medicine and alarms the patient and caregivers when he/she misses. The study showed that Dosell worked well, in patient´s homes according to given instruktions.
Expected long term effects
Dosell, an automatic remote controlled drugdispenser, was tested in the patient´s homes during two month 2017, 325 dispenses were registred. At 320 of these occasions Dosell preformed excellently, but failed at 5 occasions. The error was identified as an electronic bug, The reliability was 98,5 %.
Approach and implementation
Five Dosell-prototypes were tested by four general practitioners and four district health nurses during October and November 2017 in patient´s homes. The age of the patients varied from 69 to 75 years, 75% were women. By daily monitoring the reability of Dosell was registred concerning the delivery of drugs. The alarm was tested >20 without any error.
