Status Ongoing
Venture 6G - Research and innovation
Call 6G - National collaboration projects in research and innovation

Purpose and goal

The project utilizes BeammWave’s ADP1 platform for mmWave digital beamforming to develop 6G integrated sensing and robust communication (ISAC). By adopting a distributed digital beamforming architecture, it achieves higher precision and wide-area scanning compared to analog solutions. Security is emphasized to ensure the safe transmission of sensing data for AI/ML processing. Additionally, the project aims to influence 3GPP standards through BeammWave’s active participation.

Expected effects and result

This project starts at TRL level _3 and is intended to end at TRL level _5. To reach higher TRL a combination of mature 6G standardization and ISAC/JSAC sensing technology with hardware is needed. For a successful project we will have demonstrated robust 6G ISAC technology with the advanced development platform for distributed digital beamforming (ADP1) as a basis, filed at least 5 patents and submitted proposals to the 3GPP standardization.

Planned approach and implementation

The project focuses on developing ISAC technology to enhance wireless confidence and accessibility for all. It employs a robust methodology organized into 5 Work Packages; ISAC requirements review (WP1), RF design (WP2), signalling and security protocols (WP3), platform development (WP4), and contribution to ISAC standardization (WP5). The approach ensures continuous use and dissemination of results, addressing potential risks and aiming to simplify information access for future innovators.
