Distributed Artificial Intelligent Systems (DAIS)

Reference number
Coordinator RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB - RISE Research Institutes of Sweden
Funding from Vinnova SEK 150 000
Project duration July 2020 - September 2020
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The research and innovation activities are organized around eight different supply chains. Five of these focus on delivering the hardware and software that is needed to run industrial grade AI on different type of networking topologies. Three of the supply chains demonstrate how known AI challenges, from different functional areas, are met by this pan European effort. The DAIS project consists of forty-nine parties from eleven different countries.

Expected long term effects

DAIS EU application has been successfully submitted on September 16. EC will review the application to decide to whether grant the DAIS application or not. The DAIS project is a big European project focusing on IoT and edge computing, which would be very strategic for Sweden and RISE. If the project will be accepted, RISE is supposed to coordinate the whole project and a kickoff should be organized in May 2021.

Approach and implementation

The whole project part was coordinated by RISE, with participation of 48 partners from 11 European countries. The RISE team included three people working as part of the coordination team from RISE. The project relies on supply chains and workpackages, that each is leaded by one of the partners. RISE collected required inputs from all partners together with WP, SC and country leaders and integrate all the received inputs to make a 600 pages application. PO phase application has been improved based on the comments from the reviewers.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
