Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to develop a digital tool to help employers ensure that they, step by step, live up to the relatively new Discrimination Act, which many find difficult. By cross-fertilizing IT and anti-discrimination, we have developed a first prototype within two of the Discrimination Act´s areas; Recruitment and sexual harassment. Users (organizations and companies) are contracted to test the product in their operations for a six month period. Thus, we believe that both purpose and goal are met.

Expected long term effects

Our prototype is the beginning of a digital tool, which will make it easier for employers to ensure that they comply with the Discrimination Act, which contributes to an inclusive working life free from discrimination, and helps people contribute to their fullest potential. The prototype has been tested on three companies/organizations, but there hasn’t been enough time to measure the results and effects acheived.

Approach and implementation

We have found much knowledge, still more to explore. We have investigated the needs of employers and designed a first product prototype that should be tested in a real-life situation. One of the partners we stated in the application dropped out, but we have enrolled others instead. We digitized a number of analogous work in the organizations which are perceived as time-consuming. More resources than expected had to be put into programming. More time needed to be put into understanding the extensive discrimination law and how said law can be made accessible to employers in the easiest way.
