Digitalization and Standardization of customized massproduction (DSKM)

Reference number
Coordinator Swep International AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 500 000
Project duration December 2020 - December 2021
Status Completed
Venture Collaboration projects in cybersecurity and digital infrastructure
Call Standardization as a tool for increased competitiveness

Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The aim and goal of this project has been to increase the degree of automation for customized mass production using international standards and digital twins. Existing production flows have been mapped and adapted to standards such as ISO 22400 (Production-related key figures) and ISO TC299 (Robotics). A new simulation tool has been implemented and digital twins have been built for optimizing the existing process and dimensioning of new automation cells. Knowledge, methodology and results have been disseminated within the region.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The implemented standards ISO 22400 (Production-related key figures) and ISO TC299 (Robotics) have contributed to a common nomenclature between production flows, factories around the world, new project and the models built in the digital world. This, in turn, simplifies comparisons and saves time when different systems and processes are connected. With the help of the digital twin, existing production flows have been streamlined and future automation cells have been dimensioned for early decisions and verifications.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The work, which took place in collaboration with Lunds Universitet and IUC Lab, has included everything from knowledge collection, supplier selection, training (ISO standards, robotics and tools for digital twins), mapping of production flows for the standards and input to digital models, building digital models, verification of digital models, simulation with data from ERP systems and optimizations. Dissemination of results and experiences has taken place through IUC Lab, IUC Syd and Lunds Universitet with a focus on companies in the region.
