Project duration November 2024 - October 2027
Status Ongoing
Venture Advanced digitalization - Enabling technologies
Call Advanced digitalization for digital value chains 2024

Purpose and goal

The projektet DigiSync aims to develop advanced digital tools to synchronize geometry data in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors. The goal is to optimize tolerance setting in early phases but also support this with optimized measurement processes. A digital twin for optimized geometric quality will also be developed. This, taken together, is expected to lead to more efficient value chains and strengthen Swedish industry´s competitiveness.

Expected effects and result

Expected results include the development of new quality assurance methods, faster design and production processes, and improved product quality. The project will reduce time to market by developing an improved digital support for tolerance management and measurement data. Using newly developed standards and synchronizing geometry data between different actors reduces the risk of errors.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be implemented in a number of work packages where industry partners and academic actors collaborate to develop and implement methods for efficient geometry assurance and measurement. The work includes data collection from different sources, simulations and a synchronized data flow between different actors to optimize design and manufacturing processes. Through a step-by-step testing and evaluation solutions will be adapted and implemented for practical use in industry.
