Important results from the project
To increase knowledge about the design of sustainable digital sharing platforms and to contribute in the longer term to the spread of sharing as a natural part of a sustainable lifestyle. This has been addressed through three different focuses: (1) "National learning aimed at cities, universities and companies", (2) "Common frameworks for platforms" and (3) "Increased understanding of how to support active entrepreneurship for this type of sharing service ”. The initiation of SharingLab, as well as the creation of the prototype Umigo, has contributed to this goal fulfillment.
Expected long term effects
Expected effects were one (1) “National learning”, (2) “Common framework” and (3) “Increased understanding of sharing among entrepreneurs”, which we feel the project has contributed to. Mainly through the initiation of SharingLab and the creation of the prototype Umigo. In the next few years, further studies and trials will be conducted around Umigo within the framework of SharingLab, but also through a couple of start-ups, and this with external partners from municipalities, communities, corporate networks, public and private organisations, entrepreneurs, citizens, etc.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out around a number of pilots, who have been supported by a parallel prototype development. In addition to initial pilots, additional pilots have been engaged over time, which together have contributed to additional knowledge about user-centered sharing platforms and their potential for places, communities and different types of organizations. It has also contributed to new important insights about the basic functionality of these platforms, such as ways of handling offers, inquiries, groups, profiles & portals via other physical / digital channels.
