Important results from the project

Our overall objective with Kommundata.io presents a digital building permit process is to be the springboard for future AI processing of building permits. A prerequisite for this is structured data. In this first step, we have focused on administrative support where we have integrated current legislation, the building regulations, with the building classification system CoClass, through our service byggregler.ai.

Expected long term effects

We are currently running internal testing on an administrator support, which presents relevant building rules based on keywords from the application and hope to get it out for further testing soon. We have also learned an enormous amount about the building permit landscape and have understood from contacts in the municipal world and from our own app development that the fully digital process required for a future AI processing of building permits also requires a complete turnover of the administrative process, for which we see the interest being huge.

Approach and implementation

We focused early on on an expanded needs analysis as we understood that our vast industry knowledge and technical competence needed to be supplemented with the customer´s, in this case the municipality´s building permit department, actual pain points. We have therefore had a clear focus on building collaborations and letting it permeate our entire process.
