Reference number
Coordinator FUNKA NU AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 265 647
Project duration April 2017 - November 2018
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to develop a digital service to handle expert-based accessibility reviews of websites. The result of the project is a digital platform that collects and coordinates all documentation concerning the audit and its reporting. The platform makes the review process go smoothly and more efficiently. The pedagogical design and structure of the service also facilitates our customers´ own work with web accessibility.

Expected long term effects

The regulations and the specific technicalities regarding web accessibility are both complex and under constant updating. The digital platform that was developed in the project has a pedagogical structure in which users can easily find the points that are relevant to them. The expected effects are that it will be easier for users to understand and make use of the results of the review. The platform also lowers the threshold to start using expert reviews, especially for those who are new to the subject of web accessibility.

Approach and implementation

To ensure that the service meets the expectations of the market, we have worked closely with current customers throughout the project. The work began by developing a thorough requirement specification based on the customers´ feedback and requests. When we later on developed the concept and prototype, we started testing these early with pilot customers. This meant that we were able to achieve a service that meets the customers´ requirements faster. The project has followed the schedule.
