Important results from the project
The goal with the project is to address the demographic aging challenges and opportunities by using digitalization. This to make Sweden a global leader in healthcare and care 2028. The aim of this pre-project has been to build an ecosystem of partners. The work has been successful and we have formed a consortium of leading stakeholders that will participate as partners in the upcoming project. During the pre-project discussions with the stakeholders have deepened our understanding of existing challenges and made it possible to make the goals and the sub-goals concreate and measurable.
Expected long term effects
Within the framework of the pre-project, we have gained further knowledge of challenges that hamper innovations in care and healthcare. Important sub-areas to address are fragmentation, difficulties in exchanging information, organizational aspects, staff shortages, and reimbursement systems that hinder collaborations towards integrated care solutions. Based on the work we have concretized activities for the upcoming project. These activities will, in the long run, lead to system innovation that enables new work processes and increases empowerment among the citizens.
Approach and implementation
During the project, we have had a large number of meetings with various stakeholders with the aim to build an ecosystem of partners. We have had discussions with authorities and politicians with the aim to connect them to the project. We have built up a project organisation consisting of national stakeholders, an international advisory board and a reference group. We have presented the project in Visby in Sweden during “Almedalen” and at the EU regional council in Brussels. The work has resulted in a very strong consortium for the upcoming project proposal.
