Important results from the project
This project have spread knowledge and insights regarding: how different digital tools can be used to involve users in the innovation process how service design and universal design can be used as parallell concepts ideas and suggestions that make Alfons Åbergs culture house more inclusive for all children - with or without disabilities. The ideas included both easy-to-implement initiatives as well as larger ones - and they have included physical, digital and service oriented user touchpoints.
Expected long term effects
Apart from a strategic plan with more long-term suggestions for inclusion the project also resulted in initiatives which were implemented directly, e.g.: - a new entrance sign - possibility to visit the house online - digital treasure hunt at the end of a visit - recycle station designed with universal design principles - ”Calm afternoons” Those changes will make it easier for children with disabilities to visit the house - at the same time those changes make the experience better for everyone.
Approach and implementation
This project was divided in three phases: 1) Plan and start: project planning including organization, method&process for digital user involvement (using service design methodology) 2) Understand user needs: collecting data in two steps (using complementary tools in every step), analyzing and prioritizing the collected ideas 3) Create and do: Divide the ideas in three time horizons - short, medium and long-term and realize the short-term ideas.Sharing the results in a digital webinar.
