Important results from the project

The purpose was to be able to develop prototypes for digital locks that can be used for e-commerce purpuses. We have tested many different versions of the prototypes and looked at what will be easiest, cheapest and smartest based on the customer´s needs and areas of application we are aiming for.

Expected long term effects

The project was started with the aim of receiving unmanned parcel delivery and pick-up. The hardware has been seen as the facilitator for an easier everyday life and this has been our guiding principle in the project, which is why we have chosen a simple and cost-effective design and component selection. We believe that we have created the market´s most cost-effective, smart and simple lock, which is extremely easy to implement and even easier to use. But most importantly - it allows for an easier day-to-day life for anyone who wants to shop online.

Approach and implementation

The project started by evaluating the basic design of the hardware. Magnets, various attachment points, plastic, metal, etc. were tested. After two relevant prototypes were selected, the project started with hobby solutions for mobile opening / closing in order to be able to test the lock´s ability to work digitally. Subsequently, resources were added to create circuit boards and our own app. The project has then built up the app and hardware according to this. Early customer testing has provided insights that otherwise would have been impossible to take into account.
