Purpose and goal
Our vision is that of Dig-It Lab being an internationally renowned, knowledge-intensive, and dynamic competence center, dedicated to contribute to solving challenges associated with sustainable industry and the built environment. The purpose is to reduce climate impact linked to the built environment through digitization and to enable industrialization of digitization, from. The goal is to establish a dynamic arena where academia, industry and society collaborate and develop innovative digital solutions that contribute to making buildings more efficient and sustainable
Expected effects and result
First, DIL will allow to fully realize the potential of digitalization throughout the whole lifespan of buildings. Second, DIL will lead to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. Third, DIL will lead to an increase in the legitimacy and validity of research performed and accelerate market introduction of new innovative technologies and methods. Fourth, DIL will lead to more actionable knowledge, and to the development of proper competences. Finally, DIL will contribute to an increased Swedish competitiveness and leadership in the digitalization of the built environment.
Planned approach and implementation
By Q1 2024, center management core mechanisms have been set, and the groundwork for shared digital infrastructure and PhD themes has been initiated. In Q2 2024, the center is inaugurated, and work on the research agenda starts. Q3 2024 sees the launch of PhD exchange and other mobility plans. This groundwork paves the way for focusing on education, knowledge dissemination, and research in 2025 and beyond, coupled with a commitment to continuously improving the shared digital infrastructure.
