Important results from the project

The objective of the DidPak project has been to develop a tool for pedagogical contextualization and packaging of digital learning resouces from differens sources. Focus has been on tool to place digital learning resources in a pedagogical context. DidPak is foremost intended to be integrated with other digital environments and platforms. The intention is that DidPak will contribute to an increased use of digital learning resources by making it easier for pedagogues to distribute digital learning resources to students.

Expected long term effects

DidPak is developed as a code library and is mainly intended for integration in existing or new platforms. The first version of DidPak was implemented, under the name ´collections´, in our own platform as a proof of concept. Collections can be used to create collections of digital learning resources. It also contains functionality for connecting digital learning resources to the school curriculum. The intention is that DidPak will contribute to increasing the use of digital learning resources.

Approach and implementation

The project started with an inventory of existing standards for metadata and packaging of digital learning resources. There was also an analysis of the needs of teachers related to the use of digital learning resources. Based on the result from those two studies, DidPak was implemented as a code library for use with other platforms. The project ended with a reference implementation of DidPak in our own system, WeLib.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
