Important results from the project

The project goal was to produce our filter material and prepare it for launch, as well as to establish a demonstration plant for its production. We designed and built a plant for the production of 50 tons/year at Green Innovation Park in Alnarp. We carried out several customer projects to test filtration and recycling of phosphorus. In parallel, tests were performed in the lab for more accurate calculations of effect. Thanks to the fact that we have a production facility and a finished product, we were able to better calculate a price for the product. We have contacted the first customers.

Expected long term effects

We have just started testing in production and it looks like we can keep our expected capacity at 50 ton/year. Filter material increased its capacity by 13% with 3 regeneration cycles (RegC). We optimized our regeneration cycle so that we increased the effect of recycled phosphorus by 100% (from 15 to 35%). We have found the limit value for the filtration cycle (feltC) through what we learned about RegC.

Approach and implementation

We will continue to improve the filtering properties, and now we know where to focus. We have seen that the filter works and that it is suitable for regeneration and that medicine residues and heavy metals that are stuck in the filter do not settle in the phosphorus product. We are in a completely different situation now that we have a production and it is possible to have a discussion with customers.
