Important results from the project
Access to human biological material is crucial to companies developing products within biotechnology, analyses, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. Test and verification of new techniques require for example samples of blood and tissue from patients with various diagnosis. The aim of the project was to develop a generic model to solve this and to be scaled and spread within and outside Akademiska sjukhuset, was not reached since the project was ended prematurely before any activities had been executed. The project was prematurely closed due to reasons not related to the project.
Expected long term effects
The expected effects, such as a generic model to provide companies with biologic material in an ethical and secure manner to neutral cost were not produced since the project was ended prematurely.
Approach and implementation
A number of work packages were planned, for example designing a process map and a guide for how to handle requests for biological material, writing templates and check lists to be distributed to involved parties as well as validating the process with a concrete example of a company in need of patient material.
