Important results from the project
A national Quantum Life Science Centre (QLSC) has been established to create enabling conditions for an attractive QLS ecosystem in Sweden, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge research and commercialization of innovative QLS products and services. The establishment of the QLSC and 8 projects, has been done in close collaboration with WACQT, Swelife, four universities, two hospitals, AstraZeneca, Elekta, IBM and startups such as Deep Light Vision, QuantumScopes and SPQR.
Expected long term effects
Within five years, our goal is to continue to pioneer QLS applications, secure Sweden´s global QLS leadership, and stimulate growth and jobs in the QLS area. We also intend to further strengthen Sweden´s QLS position through continued strategic collaborations with e.g. Cleveland Clinic and Novo Nordisk Quantum Computing Programme.
Approach and implementation
The development has been pursued through a number of strategic initiatives: Establishment of the QLS Centre to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate the development of quantum technologies in healthcare and life sciences. Organization of National, Nordic and Global QLS roundtable conferences to drive the continuous development of QLS applications and bring together experts from academia, industry and healthcare.
