Important results from the project
The background of the project is an innovation contest aimed at new cost effective elevator solutions for installation in existing buildings. Thanks to the prize money, the winner managed to build a first prototype. The project in question aimed at design and building of a full scale prototype in for a stairway, including a basic control system. The goal has been achived, when it comes to the prototype, but some refinement is remaining, as well as establishment of production and installation partnerships.
Expected long term effects
The project may be seen as a bridge from the first functional prototype towards a first purchasing contract. However, some work still remains, for which additional funding will be recruited. But, nevertheless, the project has meant a giant leap technology-wise.
Approach and implementation
With New Tools for health (Hälsans nya verktyg) as a coach and resource for follow-up the winner and his team have designed and tested the prototype, as well as different detail solutions. Great achievements have been made regarding the power mechanism, which now contains unique cost-effective and minimally space-consuming solutions.
