Important results from the project
The project aims to industrialize and scale up our previous ´lab´ process so that the sensor can be produced by conventional PCB manufacturers in large volumes have been met. The sensor can be produced FAB-less. The goal of building a marketing and sales organization, develop and manage IP rights, find sales channels have also been met. The objective of developing the sensor to reach new markets has partly fulfilled this by refined sensor systems and by a double sided intermediate product.
Expected long term effects
JonDeTech has developed an industrial process for fab-less manufacturing of infrared sensors. A large sales and marketing organization has been built up. Two patent applications have been submitted. As effect of the project, JonDeTech has been able to establish itself as a company and will be able to compete with the existing IR sensor company in a rapidly growing market. The organization now has three employees in market and sell, three employees of the applications and systems, two employees in R & D as well as a business developer. All in all 3x more than when project started.
Approach and implementation
JonDeTech have together with multiple partners, in small steps, developed an industrially viable manufacturing process for IR sensors. The sensors are produced in a so-called flexible PCB with the format 9x12 inches. Today such a panel contains 3400 sensors. Evaluation and analyzes made by Fraunhofer IZM, shows that the process will work. The organization has been built up with the help of private investors. The company continues to grow. Production development continues, the future with a focus on improving yield, quality and uniformity.
