Important results from the project
The project goal was to engage with local Australian healthcare expertise to investigate opportunities and barriers prior to Australia market entry for the Dermicus teledermatology platform. The work has been successful in verifying that Dermicus teledermatology platform can be compliant local requirements for patient data and clinical safety. There is also a better understanding of diagnostic procedures, barriers, stakeholders and health economics. This has been achieved by working in collaboration with the local consultants and engagement with Queensland & New South Wales.
Expected long term effects
The main outcome of the work is that it identified a priority dermatology area for further qualification. An additional outcome has been the identification of a number of candidate reference projects and stakeholders in Queensland and New South Wales to develop during future go to market planning. This will enable Gnosco to build a detailed go to market plan in conjunction with a specific local market reference which is vital for the commercial successes of Dermicus in Australia. This project further emphasised the importance of a local reference, as seen for example in the UK NHS.
Approach and implementation
The approach to the research and consultation undertaken in preparing the report was to understand the “problem landscape” of the dermatological care area and to overlay Gnosco’s solutions to identify opportunities and gaps. The key highlights of the primary domain focus were on: - Dressings costs - GPs reluctant to provide a focus on dermatology care - National system immaturity A close collaboration with JPC using weekly status meetings, communication via email and video meetings with prospective partners, maximised knowledge transfer and removed a lengthy project handover.
