Important results from the project
The project has contributed with more in-depth insights and information on areas of improvement for BSR Innovation Express as a policy instrument, as well as for improvement of the inter-agency cooperation that exists in Sweden. Project results and recommendations have contributed to the NCM´s decision to continue financing BSR Innovation Express activities in 2015. Project results are also being used to guide the further development and planning of BSR Innovation Express activities for 2015, and other future activities within BSR Stars´ application to the BSR Programme.
Expected long term effects
All the project objectives have been realised: - 19 Swedish applications were received in the BSR Innovation Express call 2014 (the goal was 15) - a coordinated decision process was implemented within 3 weeks of the call´s closing date - interviews with Swedish cluster organisations and SMEs have been documented and incorporated in the overall evaluation report - results and recommendations have been presented and discussed with Swedish actors (18 Dec 2014), the Nordic Council of Ministers (11 Dec 2014 and 8 Jan 2015), and the PA INNO Steering Group (13 Jan 2015).
Approach and implementation
The project plan in 3 phases has been implemented with some adjustments: - fewer interviews with SMEs (due to lack of contact information received from cluster organisations) - extended/later timing of communication with the Nordic Council of Ministers (due to the need to follow EK-Näring´s process) The actual development and planning of future BSR Innovation Express/Facilitating Linkages activities (which will be done in the broader BSR Innovation Express coordination team, led by DASTI) still remains to be done.
