Important results from the project
The purpose of the project is to determine the design, the choice of material, and the manufacturing method for a brazed alumnium heat exchanger. The objective is to increase heat exchanger strength by 50%, increase the heat transfer performance for a given area by 15%, reduce overall energy consumption (and thereby environmental impact) in the production by 30%, and reduce total production cost for a given level of cooling performance by 30%. The heat exchanger is primarily intended for cooling engine and transmission oil in vehicles.
