Important results from the project

The purpose of the proposal supported by leverage funding was to submit a project proposal to further develop the idea of steel making dust utilization as a secondary source of metals. The goal was to build relevant consortium with academic and industrial partners with required competence and expertise in the field. Both goals were fulfilled. Two project proposals were submitted; one to for European funding and the second for national funding. For both projects experienced consortiums were built with both academic and industrial partners. The total budget requested was over 40 Mi. SEK.

Expected long term effects

The activities resultet in compiled information about the technology for the partners, new industrial partners interested in the idea and co-operation, increased network and project proposals with relevant project consortium. Work on the proposal with a high research and innovative quality will be used as a base for a future co-operation on the similar activities within the consortium, especially with the industrial partners. The experience of the consortium will lead to the improvement of the technology and thus the chances of the industrialization will increase.

Approach and implementation

The project was divided into of three tasks. The first task was proving the relevant information to the stakeholders. Such activity thus supported the second task, which was be based on the active communication with the partners and potential partners. Documents form Task one were used when organizing the meetings and for the communication with LCA expert and for communication with the call administrative. The third task included the work on the proposals and their submission, providing of all required documents related to the call and final communication with partners.
