Important results from the project

The project’s purpose was to spread learnings from several projects where approaches and methods to strengthen the strategic capacity and capability for innovative development in health and social care have been developed and tested. These learnings relates to research and forms for interactive learning- and change processes. We have in line with the aim developed an arena for learning with a non-traditional approach aiming to build sustainable organizational capacity for innovative development in cooperation with researchers, support functions and consultants.

Expected long term effects

Expected results were a spread of common learnings within participating organizations and development of an action oriented learning module to be used as an educational or support intervention in various types of situations and organizations within the welfare sector. The resulting learning arena, “Develop future development (UFU)”, combine several knowledge areas with a systems view and generic models within 3 learning cycles, and aim to develop developers’ and organizations’ capacity to lead, support and create conditions for system-wide, innovative development.

Approach and implementation

The project approach used has been a combination of researcher supported learning networks, five interactive workshops and a transfer of common learnings via support functions in three regions and nationally via an interest organization and consultants. Workshops have been arranged in four cities. The developed UFU arena uses a longitudinal, interactive approach with workshops, learning networks and in-house activities that are based on action learning. UFU combines health and social care challenges, research, learning, action, and capacity building, and creates synergies.
