Important results from the project
The project´s aim was to systematize knowledge about design-driven policy labs within the framework of Vinnova´s effort on policy lab. 16 actors participated in the project and shared experiences from their policy labbing.
Expected long term effects
Conclusions, and recommendations, on policy making were: - design culture in the public sector - learning processes for integrating design - programs enabling practices - the knowledge-intensive design practice - research and education - what happened to policy labbing? These point out how design-driven innovation should be able to be further developed, as a knowledge intensive area.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in two phases, the first until March 2019 and the second until October 2019. During the first phase, interviews, workshops and collection of material from the policy labs were conducted, which was made a preliminary analysis of. This analysis was reported to the government commission´s final report. During the second phase, further interviews and material collection were conducted, and a deeper analysis of all material was conducted. That analysis was reported in the project´s final report.
