Important results from the project
The Data Center of the Swedish House of Finance and Nordic Investor services have collaborated to create a database of executive compensation contracts for all Swedish publicly traded firms from 2006 to 2016.
Expected long term effects
The collaboration has been extremely successful and the database has been completed as expected. The list variables is reported in attachment.
Approach and implementation
The database was planned and structured carefully in an initial exploratory phase. The database was built through an iterative process to make it registration-and user friendly. 1-3 analysts worked part-or full-time from 2015 under uniform management and quality control, with regular feedback between NIS/SHOF to ensure a common interpretation of methodology and result. The collection shifted from collecting data across companies foreach year, to collecting each company across years. The change in process resulted in more efficient collection of the data.
