Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to increase the participation amongst women, migrants and youth in municipal and other decision making processes by applying our working method of process designing inclusive citizen participation with support and training of a digital platform. We have tested the working method together with two city districts and one housing company and trained civil servants from 2 other city districts and municipalities. Today we have a well adapted offer tailored to different target groups. Our new smart solution is in demand both nationally and internationally.
Expected long term effects
We have trained 386 civil servants in inclusive digital citizen participation and have thereby created possibilities for increased participation amongst underrepresented groups in the areas we work in. We have supported the implementation of four participatory budgets that have been implemented in areas with a high population of migrants and the majority of the participants have been women and youth. We have, within the project, installed and trained 3 municipalities and organisations in the platforms Consul and Decidim.
Approach and implementation
We have supported in designing an inclusive process, both physically and in the digital platform, and trained civil servants, staff, civil society in inclusive methods and tools. After each completed process or training, we have evaluated together with project partners and participants and adapted the working method before we start a new round. We have been given board assignments in, among others, People Powered and initiated research collaborations. We collaborate with other actors to create or contribute to existing resource banks and databases within the subject.
